Alexandra Fedorova

Alexandra was born on 15 January 1986 in Chimkent, Kazakhstan. In 2010 she graduated from Ulyanovsk State Technical University in textile technology. She lives and works in St Petersburg.

She works in collage with hand-dyed archival paper, treating deconstruction and distortion as artistic means.

"What draws me to paper is its fragility — its vulnerability as a particular form of sensitivity. It is not only a physical property of the material but a readiness for new experience, a capacity to be acted upon and transformed."
