About the work

This work is about foundations — about the growth of inner maturity, which begins from a broad base largely set from outside: parental attitudes, cultural context, first experiences. And then a new ground begins to be built, concentrated and dense, assembled not from what was inherited but from what has been lived through and reconsidered.

The base is made of raffia. The "white" foundation is woven from corn leaves I gathered and dried myself — as a creative act, building the "new" is only possible out of the material of one's own experience.
